Thread: Alternator bolt

Just had my alternator replaced while I'm on the road for work (with no tools) and want to double check that the mechanic put the washer on the correct side of the alternator bolt. Can someone confirm which side that goes on for me please? Thanks in advance!

i don't think there is any way it can go on the right side.. if you're talking about the long bolt that mounts it to the motor..

The washer for sure can go on either side because I've done it before and the bolt had worked it's way loose and fallen out before. I just can't remember which side it goes on.
