No

Just wondering if you dropped the chain down while doing the cam swap. It can do things like knock out the chain oiler or get under one of the "chain guides" (assuming not a VE pump) and pull it off which can crack the internal cover of the oil pump.

I use Donaldson oil filters they are the best in heavy duty industrial and light duty.. The quality is by far The most superior when I
Compared them to a mobil 1, k&n, bosch, wix, and them other cheap filters..

These are the filters we use on our cat 3516 2200hp engines, and d9 d10 d11 dozers and smaller cat equipment..

I would say this instead.
Remove the drive belts, remove lower oil pan and baffle, remove pickup tube, remove crank and water pump pulley, remove passenger side motor mount and bracket, remove all bolts to the front cover and take it off.

No? Way less work... I would do whatever I could to not have to fuck with the crossmember, exhaust, and upper oil pan... Just get that pick-up tube off with some dexterity and the right tools.
If there are any bolts holding the oil pump to the upper oil pan I'm forgetting, you could undo those but still keep the upper oil pan in place.

You really need to remove upper pan tho rather than fight it.

Keep in mind guys for a small piece of blue paper towel to clog the gauge line or anything important it would have first have had to get down to the oil pan, get past the pick-up screen (which is probably actually where it is if it is anywhere) and then get through the oil filter before clogging anything, which I think is pretty unlikely. But who knows... And who knows what damage it could have done to the oil pump itself, or who knows what's really happened. Such a shitty situation.

I agree Ben. Clog is very unlikely, but could happen.

My big fear is cracked internal oil cover... because failure mode would be exactly what he saw. Works fine for a while then start to lose pressure as it opens up till the pressure breaks it open.

Yah I hadn't thought of the snapped chain oiler pin or other chain issues. I would have hoped some turning it over by hand had happened before going full tilt. =D
