Spitting out fuel/gas
Hey guys I recently replaced a fuel tank on a 1996 Nissan sentra with a 1998 nissan sentra one (Has few more emission control outlets which I tapped off). Car drives perfect..no issues. Yesterday I went to fill it up and it would not take more than $2 of gas and whatever it takes in.. returns it(spits it out). Any ideas on this matter? TANK IS EMPTY GUYS!

The 98 sentra was equipped with a slightly different and more complex EVAP system. The 98 model has what is called a "Refueling/EVAP Vapor Cut Valve" as where the 96 model did not. This valve maybe in the tank or in the EVAP lines, not sure. It's purpose is to vent the tank during refueling, and direct those vapors to the EVAP canister, and to close off during non-fueling. Im guessing that you may have plugged the vent.
