The big hose I got is 1/2" too short, is it ok to keep it like that?

Even the smaller longer hose is different

I guess they did that to lessen the bend, but the fat shorter one is a pain in the ads to put on, I've bent the metal hose to get it on and off and pushed it back with a hydraulic ram

Mike, I'm pretty sure you got hoses for a lowport SR20DE instead of for the VE, but even if that is the case, it looks like it will all work out. Or maybe the hoses you had weren't even Nissan hoses?
The fatter hose being a little short is no big deal. As long as you have the clamp placed after the retaining rib and fully seated on the hose then you'll be fine. It looks like you should pull the fatter hose back about 1/4" and then clamp it down.

The dealer looked it up as the stock sr20 engine for this car, I got the hoses on I'm putting it back together now

I'm glad I decided to change the fuel filter while everything is apart, the gas was black with chunks coming out of the filter

Mike did you give them the VIN number when you ordered the part?

You need to call greg v.... always get the right part the 1st time.

hahaha that's about what mine looked like when i changed it, i was getting good gas mileage right up until it wouldn't stay running because of the lack of fuel pressure lol

the hose looks like maybe they superceeded it to improve flow. maybe redesigned it since they fail a lot.

fuel filters should be changed once a year.

I wonder what my gas mileage is going to be now, fresh oil, new 300zx fuel filter, new coolant, and mt90 coming soon,

The dealer looked it up as a 98 sentra se with the sr20 engine, I pretty much looked it up myself before I got there to make sure it was the right part numbers

I just got the car at the end of december

It runs, the fans kick on at 212, but the alternator is making loud noises, and it sounds like the car has a miss at idle but sounds normal to 5000 at no load, the scan gauge is reading 13.6- 14.7 volts, I have to drive the car to work in an hour, it has a slight weird sound when I turn the key off
