So I need to move the ball up for shorter throw right?

You'll have to ditch the heat shield if you want it at the shortest setting. Keep in mind there's a reason that shield is there.

Heres a couple more pics I just took.
Starting from the top...
-B14 with ball moved up
-B13 with ball moved up
-Ebay B&M( or Fidanza?) knockoff that came in a car I bought...tons of slop in the socket
-Genuine B&M

I had to grind the B13 end down to get fresh threads on the one in the pic,it got damaged moving the ball up.
It will screw on a factory threaded knob again now.I may just cut the nub off the end so it will be slightly shorter.

Nah...take it off and massage it

I stood on both sides with boots on so it cant spread when you whack it in the center with a BFH until its shaped like a "m" as pictured.
The put it on ,and shift through the gears. It will be close, but I was able to find the sweet spot where it cleared both the shifter and the exhaust(I ve had ssac and asp headers)

BFH?!.....Hammer time!

But seriously...how the fack did you get the mounting holes to line up? You must have spent some time on it?

5 mins at the most,hank.
Standing there with one foot on each side while you hit it keeps it from spreading out,so all the holes line up fine. That things flimsy....once I had it in place again,I used a prybar to adjust it off the exhaust or whatever it hit.
I have done this on 3 cars with no problems.

@eggman

Please copy and paste the links above and edit them into your first post in this thread. That is all the relevant threads on my limited search. I might poke around some more later.

Right now, I am afraid that info might be lost in the thread, and those links really belong in the first post. Thanks!

Thanks Ben. Dang, I didn't know I would need to "massage" the heat shield.
