effin' knock sensor....
Just spent about an hour going through threads about knock sensors..

I was wondering if anyone came up with a fix for this problem? i bought my car a year ago with a bad sensor and replaced the sensor then.

I don't have any performance problems with the car, other than what sounds like valve noise for 30 seconds after starting up the car in < 40 degree weather.

So did anyone come up with a fix for this persistent problem?

Problem being...check engine light for the sensor? Before I replaced mine it seemed hesitant/stumbly below 3-3.5k then above that it felt fine, I have heard that it just ignores the information from the knock sensor above a certain point because of too much other noise

No check engine. Just a pending code. And no performance problems; engine runs like new once warmed up.

I only want to fix it because i need to get emissions taken care of.

Is it every time you start the car? Or just after its been sitting for a while? Sounds like its normal to me, its just till your oil gets pumped up to the head, all of my sr20's have done that

JWT computers have stored knock sensor codes on OBD2 vehicles because JWT disables the knock sensor. It doesn't throw a cel, just a stored code.

Make sure you are using a good oil filter with the check valve that keeps the filter full of oil when the motor is off. It will save your motor in the end, those dry startups are really bad for it. I only use OEM nissan for this reason, they seem to have the best check valves.

I will be tackling the knock sensor today. I'm throwing codes for knock sensor, o2 sensor, incomplete cat, egr incomplete. Runs fine up to 3200rpm, then it hesitates and feels like it's bogging... Trying to drive up a hill in 5th gear at 55mph is a no go, I'll be doing 30 by the top of the hill. It's retarding my timing horribly.

I have the same problem but replacing my knock sensor did not fix the issue, still have not found the problem yet

Just an FYI> )I have not replaced my knock sensor yet, plan on that today at some point.)
My knock sensor code showed up the exact same time as my MAF code. I regrounded the MAF, reset the codes, and the MAF code is gone, but the knock sensor pops right back up instantly. Even with no code for the MAF, I still believe i have some sort of MAF issue. This could likely be your issue as well.
