Thanks VQ, but that does not address my initial post.

I wanna know from qualified scrap-yard hunters, how they go about their business.

Shipping is next to impossible due to the dimensional weight, and even more prohibitive in my case is the ability of UPS to actually ship it without destroying it.

Gotta be within 60 miles so I can pick it up in my Tahoe.

Just a bit.

The headliner panel I source needs to be in good physical shape and unbroken. Not to mention piss-free.

1) Tools. Shouldn't take that much to remove a headliner/accessories.

2) Money. Cash I assume. Do they even take Visa/Amex?

3) Sun-screen (Irish, we're pasty and pissed).

4) Large-sized cold beverage....or two.

5) Tahoe to haul it home.

Anything else I need to add to my list for equipment/supplies in a scrapyard?

No kiddin'?

OK. Then that is the plan apparently. My first expedition shall happen shortly. I figure M-F will be less busy by far than the weekends (?). And I am off all week.

I'll check out those local yards posted above via linky.

Thanks guys.

Do it.

I'll pay you for them regardless of whether I have you ship them or not.

I'll go looking on Tuesday or Wednesday morning and see what I can find local.

If I find them and a headliner panel, I'll reimburse you for the ones you pull and you can keep them.

Those items could easily be missing or broken from whatever parts cars I locate.

No problem, should be able to find the parts pretty easily as well. Just the cost of parts and shipping, no extra money necessary.

Good point. I don't know if there is a difference...???

I do know that any 2-door hardtop Sentra (91-94) will work for sure.

Anybody else know if the 4-door and 2-door headliner panels are the same or different?

I would have *guessed* they were different from the b-pillar back (???).

Awesome.

That increases my chances of finding one in good physical/structural condition.

I'm gonna get it, my sunvisors, A-pillar trim, and maybe my b/c-pillar trim all recovered to match my "Batcave Dark" black interior.

Finally finish off my interior.

I have always had the best luck just going to a few yards to see what they have.
There are a few areas around that have multiple yards within a few mile radius of eachother,so that helps.I just pick a day during the week(its less crowded that way) and start early so you can check them all out.

LKQ here is nice because they have all the cars up off the ground to make all the parts easily accessible. They charge a dollar to go in and u-pull everything.
Alot of yards just have the cars all piled up,so it can be a pain sometimes, but still fun climbing all around looking for that "gem"

Some yards wont let you go in at all,or will take you out to a specific car.
There is one in particular I one I go to that they pick you up in some beatup ass junker with flat tires, etc and you get a crazy, sometimes scary ride out to te car...yu just tell them what you want and they will remove it.

Overall,I like to walk in and look myself, because you never know what you may stumble across.
Calling sometimes helps, but they dont always know what they have.
For example, once I went looking or an NX and they said no NX or sentras...I asked to walk the yard anyway, and low and behold..... I found a 91 se-r and a NX there they had no clue

Good luck Shwn...I love junkyard hopping, its a blast

Add some cheap vinyl gloves and/or handcleaner to your list of things to bring.I also usually bring a fresh t-shirt to throw on before I get back into my truck after sweating balls and getting all dirty pulling parts.
OH...and a small jack, even the scissor jack from your se-r may come in handy out there too!

Have fun!!!!

Awesome and confirmed 100%.

Gloves, handcleaner, and fresh t-shirt. Got it.

I think I'll also bring something to lay in the back of the Tahoe in case the material on the headliner is disintegrating.

Not to mention a towel to sit on to protect my leather Tahoe seats from my sweaty shorts.

5) Tahoe to haul it home.

6) GoJo Hand Cleaner and gallon jug of tapwater.

7) Gloves. Latex and a pair of leather ones as well.

8) Some serious "Deep Woods" kinda DEET bug repellent.

9) Fresh t-shirt and crappy old beach towel.

10) Big-ass old crappy sheet or blanket for Tahoe cargo hold.

11) Two (2) cookies. That should last me six (6) hours easy. In case I get hungry.

Sh*t. That rocks. I'da forgot or not known to bring it on half of that.

Thanks guys, I sincerely appreciate it.

I'm feeling all ready to go huntin'. On a freakin' expedition to finish off my Classic's interior.
