That EGR solenoid code appears when your EGR is missing. On a VE with a DE ecu, this is expected.

The misfire could be a lot of things. I would firstly check to see if your ignition system is in order; from the spark plugs all the way to the distributor.

LMAO!!!!

Mark, The EGR thing is a huge undertaking (not really)

It requires the EGR Temp Sensor resistor mod, at a minimum. Don't forget that you actually have to drive the car for a while in order for the code to clear.

Just plug in your EGR stuff, it doesn't actually have to have the EGR valve. Just plug in your temp sensor and the EGR solenoid, zip-tie outta the way, done.

V - Unplugging the battery cable to clear the codes is one thing, tampering with emissions related equipment is another. When you clear the ECU from Emissions related codes, the ECU reports "not-ready" to those items until the car has been driven for a while.

Trust me, been there done that.

Exactly Cliff if he unplugs the battery it will reset all the monitors... which will cause him to fail for another reason haha.

Oh clever. Didn't know about that one, we don't have emissions here.
