removing black canister on front of valve cover
i was wondering how many of you guys have removed the black canister on the right of the valve cover and have you had any ill effects from doing so. mine is old and ugly and i want to get rod of it im already running a greddy catch can jusgt wondered

it's your charcoal canister - it's basically removed on my nx when i put the VE in - no ill effects. I think it's supposed to keep fumes in the gas tank but dont see why you can't remove it, especially if your egr system is gone, since that is hooked up to the same vacuum gallery.

*edit* wait your title says front your description says right - which is it? one is the oil seperator on the front of the vc close to the rad, the other is the charcoal canister by your fuel filter. the former should NOT be removed, the ladder is what i wrote on above

Are you talking about the charcoal canister or the oem catch can?

Sounds like catch can. If you already have an aftermarket catch can you can lose the stock one.

so just take off that catch can and run a hose in place of it

thats all i did get a 2' piece of 5/8's crank case hose @ schmucks or autozone i think i paid like 2.50 and looks way better

yea i am def going to remove it its ugly and useless compared to the greddy catch i already have

I've never liked that canistor also. I will be removing it using a ve vc.

You can use the RR hose that goes there and flip it upside down and it works pretty good.

That looks good but with a setup like that you are pushing the oil infused blow-bye gasses into the intake side.

Side note; Does the GTiR VC vent gasses like the VE one does?
