Any manual transmission repair experts out there?
Sadly this is my the mechanical issue I have experienced with my 2004 Hyundai Elantra GT Currently the car has 82K miles on it.

When the car is at a standstill with the engine running my shifter is butter smooth, a flick of the wrist will move the shifter from gear to gear. However, when moving, shifting gears suddenly requires more effort, feels like its binding as I try to get it out of and into the next gear. Slow down to a stop and it snick-snick smooth again.

Any ideas what this can be?

The car still has 18K miles and 1 year left on the warranty. I had it at the dealer today and they were already making excuses telling me it's "normal" etc...

I'm going back in about two weeks and would like to be armed with better verbal ammo.

Do you hear any noises from the Trans?

It could be seriously low on fluid. That's my first guess.

Fluid is good as I checked that first. No strange noises. I was thinking it may be the engine mounts... they seem to go bad on these cars at around 80K miles.

Clutch shouldn't be the problem. Check the mounts. just jack up on the tranny and see how much it moves at every mount.
