Can this thread be made into a "how to" or sticky, or some form of "this is really fucking good info to know before you start tearing apart your PS system"?

Just some quick info.

99 P11 has the old style 91-99 pump

00-02 have a different pump that is not interchangeable with the older pumps

P12 pumps are like 00-02 pumps

If you need aluminum PS pumps, I have both the old atyle pump and the new style pump just make sure to let me know which car it is going on.

When I looked at some pumps a while ago, it looked like they were all the same dimensions, except some had different bends in the pipes that are bolted to the inlets and outlets. It looked like if you wanted one pump to work on a different chassis configuration all you'd have to do is swap in/out pipes.

Thanks Dre, it was a lot clearer upon second reading. And the images tell the story as well.

There, after a bunch of online photo research of other pumps and how they work, here is how the fsm needs to look. See the difference? Bad drawing Nissan, tsk tsk.

Sorry for the late reply. I will also be gone for over a week so don't expect more replies.

The way you have it looks right compared to the FSM, but I think you have the valve flipped the wrong way. Maybe. I think...
I do think the spring wraps around the valve?
Edit: The above post has been edited since I made my comment, and now shows the correct orientation with the spring sliding over the narrower part of the valve.

As long as you put the spring in first, you shouldn't ruin anything and can try both ways to see which is best.

The washers in the FSM diagram are the two copper washers for the banjo bolt, and then the rubber o-ring which I see you already have in the correct place on the bung.
