Blow through setup damages standard afm myth or fact?
As title states am concerned about this because i am in the process of going the blow through setup route, heard great things about it but on the flip side someone said this setup will damage the standard afm. Is there any truth to this? I know z32 mafs on blow through have been proven but is this the same for standard afm's? If so i will have to modify my pipes for draw through.

Setup:

I really doubt it, many people have ran blow-through without issue through the years. My guess would be if you had a shitty recirculating/blow off valve or no recirculating/blow off valve then the pulses coming back from the throttle plate might cause some turbulence that would hurt the MAF (and of course the compressor blade). But that's just a guess.

It won't hurt it, could blow the seal tho, sometimes they leak anyways..

Blow thru is not my cup of tea, I tried it, had issues, went back to draw thru an problems solved

If you're recirculating the crankcase ventilation like you should, then there will be damage to the MAF filiment.
Otherwise, you're good to go provided the MAF is up to sealing the pressure.

I've seen oil in my intercooler and past it over the years, this is mainly form valve cover breathers, like BenFenner said, that will damage the filament.

Another thing to consider is Z32 maf is 3", unless you have 3" tubing before the MAF and after the MAF you could be introducing turbulence going from 2.5 to 3".
