sounds like in need of rocker arm stoppers?

But not sure if they will be any help for u. sometimes they can be more harm then help.

What else is done to the valve train?
springs + retainers?

may wanna look into solid lifters or lifter mods if you are revving high

At what revs are these breaking? If in low or mid range then there is something causing them to jump and so get broken. Usually though, this (breaking) can occur when an engine is over-reved (ie. 8,500rpm +++).
A little more info will help us to help you.

I have broken rocker arms in a 54C twice. Once was mis-shift causing an over-rev. The over was an over-rev doing a burnout.

More info so we can help would be good...

im assuming its a case of over revving.

like I said rocker arm stoppers may not be sufficient enough.

may need to try some other lifter mods

I have only broken rocker arms with a over rev while using rocker arm stoppers. they keep the rocker arms from being wiped clean of the lifters. I would never use rocker arm stoppers in any motor. double grooved shims are a better solution.

when u had the cylinder heads apart did you happen to accidentally switch the little shim under the rocker?

The little shim is what stops the rocker from twisting/ falling off.

One shim is flat and the other has a notch in it for the rocker to lock into. If u switch these the rocker will eventually break the shim and rocker will fly off. this happened to me once.

This has been a problem for years on DET engines. Realistically there is no real solution for this issue, where it normally happens at high rpm rev's, 2 step, anti-lag. The only real solution is to switch to the VVL cylinder head.

If you must stay on a DET cylinder head, your options are doing the dual guide conversion (basically running 2 guides instead of one to try and keep the rocker in place), on hydraulic lifter setups switch to a solid lifter setup (GTi-R's are already solid) with the aid of the dual guide conversion also.
