Vtec killer vs Aftermarket cams vvl
Hello,

Would like to know what you guys think about installing vtec killer cams vs the aftermarket cams for the vvl. I am presently installing a vvl on my det fwd motor and was faced with either using vtec killer cams or aftermarket cams.
My only issue is I like my car idling stock and not beating up.
Also does anyone have any idea about removing the shims from the head and going wth the shimless setup? How effective is it or what are pros vs cons on this setup.

Regards

I know it sounds pretty hilarious to put vtec KILLER cams on an SR20 but how do you plan to use a camshaft that was designed for a Honda engine?

Currently the most popular options to upgrade standard SR20VE cams are SR16VE N1, SR16VE, Kelford 184-C and SR20VE 20V (I think this last one is more suited for turbo setups).

If you are just getting to know these engines I recommend taking a tour in this thread,

Good luck

you could do the same thing with the stock cams or any other ve cam by leaving the solenoids activated all the time or by locking the rockers in place. why you would want to do this is beyond me

YUNOWANTVTEC haha, you cant put honda cams in a nissan engine, and besides vtec is different from VVL.but from what i read all you do is run constant power to the vvl rather then a rpm switch.

Morons.... there is a way to remove the vvl system by using custom cams. Just like the honda guys that use "vtec killer cams". http://www.sr20-forum.com/vvl/48627-nissan-takes-land-speed-record-bonneville.html

Also, no offense. =]
