Dont know, but i ran 28lbs of boost through a 225k mile de before I put my built motor in. It lasted all of about 11 passes running 2-5th gear and 4th gear was just pounding the limiter, judging by the acceleration on it compared to my built motor at 24psi id say it was about the same. And 24 made 461whp,391wtq. Difference was my built motor had s4 cams while the de i threw in just for the fun of it was still on stock cams just 4 lbs more boost.

It was a crazy ride thats for sure. It spun the #3 rod bearing. Then I tried replacing the bearing but the crank was damaged and it lasted 4 more pulls before it finally threw the rod out the block. The pistons when i pulled the motor apart were still perfect as well as the headgasket and all. Had it been a nice fresh de motor it probably could have lasted a long time but 225k motor that had been run low on oil several times.

I remember seeing on the old forum several guys making in the 450whp range back in the day on a de motor. I know jp boosted stock de motors up in the upper 400whp low 500whp range. Its really not a matter of the bottom end holding but the head lifting and blowing the gaskets from what I remember him saying.

What are you up to Jaimie?????? lol.

Lol.. up to no good, nothing new

Sitting at about 403ft lbs of TQ on this lowport DE with stock cams and Intake manifold. Dont want to say #'s yet but im getting ready to throw some S4's and a few other things and see what I can squeeze out of it before it lifts the head.

lol Yeah i figured the torque on the one i did was probably well over 400 ft-lbs by the feel of it and on the higher boost levels. But yeah it held up pretty good and was an insane ride for sure. I put a new oil pump on it that i had laying around from a really low mileage jdm motor.

They can take a lot of abuse for sure. Judging by jp's ve motor i think 600whp or so is possible before the stock headbolts cant hold anymore blowing the gasket.

Nice simple setup. I did it just for the fun of it because i had it laying there. Then put the reliable built motor in and didnt have to worry about it anymore.

Thats what I figured.

Car was giving me an issue last night close to 400whp, was not responding to fuel additions. Swapped out the walbro for the Aeromotive Stealth 340lph and jumped about 100whp first pull.

The local puerto rican's are suggesting hitting it with some smack so I will post a sheet if it cracks 600+ on spray lol.

Nice man, give the de some hell man. They can definitely take a lot of abuse when in good shape. Hopefully the stock old bearings will hold up. I was spinning that de motor to 8k stock cams and valvetrain. No issues and pulled all the way to 8k.
