canister replacement
hi guys, Im hoping you can help me out with a question I have:
heres the thing, I eliminated in my Avenir DET the canister which conects the hoses that goes from the block to the valve, now the thing is that I left that hose unplugged and under boost it was leaking oil all over the place so I conected it directly to the valve cover, but Im not sure how good or bad it is to have oil going there from the block, so it ocurred to me that i can install an oil catch can there, what you guys think about that?

run the hose from the crank case to the v/c, then from the t from the v/c to a catch can, you can use a tall boy 24oz beer can until you get something proper

I had a filter on there, but when it would get half full it would blow oily water stuff everywhere, so I just ran that hose to the ground. Ghetto, I know. The blue hose came with the catch can.

The funny thing is I see people with the same catch can with a greddy stamp on it and they sell it for 3x what I paid.

It is good to run a hose under the car anyway with an open can. It helps create something of a vacuum to pull out blow by.

I used a spent fire extinguisher some Home Depot brass fittings and some alumi weld rods. Before that I had the same but with a beer can. It got smashed some and leaked so I upgraded to the extinguisher.
