Yes, with ARP's. GE studs will be next if I encounter any more issues with head lift.

I have experienced some of the same issues. I have the NEW ARP head studs, the 220K psi strength ones. Torqued to 108lbs. And I have similar issues when running big boost. Hence, I am lowering the boost and trying to optimize the setup. Granted, I won't be able to get more BMEP from the engine without the head lifting, but I will be able to massively reduce pumping losses. And that should help power a lot.

To be honest I don't know if it is head lift, or a bad cometic gasket. It only happens on really high boost settings of 26psi+ after several runs down the track. But i will spill all the coolant from the bottle, and the system will suck the bottle completely dry as it cools off.


out of curiosity, when you guys install a new head gasket and TQ it do you TQ in increments then back the bolts off then re TQ? doing that seats the head gasket properly.

I did mine in like 5 steps. But it is a cometic gasket. The fitment on that particular gasket isn't like the OEM ones. OEM>Cometic.

I'm having the exact same issue for over 2 months now, pushing coolant to overflow resrvoir on high boost. The engine has not overheated not even high temperatures just the normal temps. Radiator fans kick-on normally too.

I finally stumble to this thread and realize I do have new ARP studs but never re-tigthen them, I guess I should do that (re-torque) and go from there.
