Do you have a thread detailing any transaxle stuff Rob? I've been way out of the loop lately, but I did see the recent videos.

Stock Autozone axles, Stock B13 tranny and a Clutch Masters FX500 clutch set up.

Nothing special at all. Car just makes power nicely and the boost ramp is dialed in nicely to avoid shocking the setup.

That b13 tranny will not last long. My b14 one lasted a couple years after I went turbo (maybe 5k miles a year, probably less), but I wasn't running 10's or even 12's. If you trailer it back and forth to the track it may last a while. Probably enough passes to get 9's.

I know it's on borrowed time but, at the same time I feel confident it will be OK for a little bit. The car is not strictly a track car by any means. It's a street car that I drive to work and take my family out for crusies in. This tranny so far has seen several dyno pulls while tuning, several street pulls along with one track day. This is throwing 600+ hp at it with 450 ft tq. So so far so good.... I also have a few spares to get me by.

If it breaks I bet it breaks on the street. Ive yet to break a gearstack on the strip. Slicks and tuning set up right can make a b13 trans last quite a bit of passes. That and some magic oil

With how my b14 tranny broke, I think these transmissions just wear down over time to the point that one of the gears explodes. Mine was 3rd gear but when it broke I was driving it on the street just casually putting along. Wasn't even in boost or accelerating when it exploded. Luckily the car still ran in the other gears, at least far enough to get it to a friend's garage where I could swap in the b15 tranny.

The B15s break also. I've broken 4th gear several times with mines but always on the street never at the track. I had to turn my boost down to 15psi (close to 500hp) on the street in order to prevent this from happening.

What breaks these gear boxes is wheel spin and the shock to the gearing when boost or power comes in too hard all at once. With traction and the proper boost ramp they hold up decent.

Actually, not only wheel spin, but more a combination of wheel hop and the gripping/loosing traction battle (tires) that rages and sends all sorts of shock loads to the gearset.

Power is not necessairly what breaks things, but more power + immense traction all the time. That's why those 4wd launches (in Evos, STIS, etc especially with slicks) broke all sorts of drivetrain things

More boxes broken at street racing/driving/abusing than at the strip from what I have seen and experienced.

Probably a great reason why @kevwals brace has helped his box a whole lot.
