Shipping is usually $100 extra.

I ship my heads in Uhal boxes 24.5 x 24.5 x 18, load limit 120 pounds. Box cost about $8.

It takes me about 30-40 mins to pack everything. The bottom of the box is covered with 3-4 other boxes to stregthen the box and make sure nothing brekas through and damages the head. The head is packed in a garbage bag so no oil leaks out. The head has about 3 to 4 inches of styrofoam around it so nothing breaks though or that nothing touches the head. Then the intake manifold is put into the box and then packed with styrofoam and then whatever remaining parts. I always dissasemble the head so that it has not water necks or VVL selenoids on it.

I have never had one damaged that I have shipped yet. I take alot of time and pride in what I do.

the package had some of your packaging methods but not all.. there was card board packing that raised the head 3" from the bottom of the box. i wrapped the head in a blue sheet of plastic. and there was styrofoam between the components. it looks like the box fell apart and the shipper ensured me that by adding straps that wouldn't happen.

i'm not really in the business of selling parts. i'm more of an enthusiast that has spares from projects started but not completed. i've definitely taken this as a lesson learned and will specifically tell future buyers that if they want their item insured and packaged according to their standards they will have to pay for it. that way if they say they don't want to pay for x, i'm not put on the line if something happens.

i thought you sold heads for around that price...

i apologize for the inconvenience, and i hope you are able to recoop your loss.

WOW REALLY?!?!?!?! i am misinforming...i disagree, STRONGLY disagree...here is exacty how it went

i found you had a VE head, limited pics(i wanted to see just to verify you had the product) i offered you $450 shipped due to the condition of the head wich was somewhat poor, you didnt answer so i asked if that was not enough and you replied EXACTLY as follows "sorry phone died, i can do $480shipped" how the fuck is that MY fault at that point, yes i kicked you in the shorts from the get go but is that not what everyone does?? you should have simply said NO, 2 letters soooooo easy to say, ready repeat after me "NO", that easy and then replied with another price. i understand you are trying to defend yourself but dont try and deface me...you didn't agree to my lowball price(ill agree i did lowball you) but dont try and point the finger at me saying you didn't do this or this cause i lowballed you and you worked with the funds i gave you, you replied with a price just as low...i asked where do i send funds, and you replied with your paypal addy then added please send as gift, i text you back saying in that case ill send a money order...that was only becasue i didnt want to have to pay the fees and then take a chance of not getting anything, and the money order was only going to cost me 1.50 compared to 12 in a chance of loosing my money and the postal MO was more of a insurance to get my funds back if i didnt get anything. i have every text msg from the VERY 1st one...now dont try and turn this around to protect yourself, ill be more than glad to post up the text msg's and your info without a problem, could care less. im already getting it fixed and could care less what you do with the money, i did this only because after i asked for my money back you flat out said NO...that is bull shit, if this was the other way around you would be squealing like a teenage girl getting her period for the first time, and would want me to do everything and I WOULD...now dont lie and say that you wouldn't...i know you would be all up one side of me and right down the other, but on the other case i wouldnt have shipped it in that manner, reguardless of what you paid me for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

really, i didn't see any of that, all i saw was a cheap old ass cardboard box that someone grill came in when they purchased it at walmart...why would you only wrap it just a sheet of plastic? that wont protect anything, styrofoam, i didn't see any...3" of cardboard? where? only thing that was anywhere near 3" was the piece of egg carton looking garbage stuff. the person you purchased it from, where were they located? was it 1800+/- miles away and if not did you actually think that it would make it that far without getting destroyed. just keep denying everything and blaming me, thats fine...you should just pray i never sell something you want cause if you every buy something from me ill be real sure to take EXTRA SPECIAL care of it, if you catch my drift

i've voiced myself. it's obvious you have been posting misinformation from the start. about me trying to sheist you by asking you to pay as a gift when you know i asked for a normal paypal transaction and you were unwilling to pay the fee. you conveniently forgot to mention that. i offered you the chance to pay as a gift to save you the cost not because you can't file a claim against gifts. this shows your position throughout the whole process. cost cutting where you shouldn't have and expecting me to pick up the difference.

you asked for it for $480 shipped and so i shipped it with what you gave me. actually, that's technically -$20 going toward the shipping, but AGAIN i'm not complaining about being lowballed. it happens all the time on these forums with 16-year-old kids (not calling you one, but if the shoe fits) trying to build $1000 setups on a $100 budget. you have no idea how many lowball requests i received and just ignored like i did yours. what i am complaining about is you not paying a cent toward shipping when i told you the cost and you expecting first class next day air shipping in tupperware with the whole nine. that's not going to happen. sorry. I SENT IT EXACTLY HOW I RECEIVED IT. YOU ASKED FOR $480 SHIPPED AND THAT'S WHAT YOU GOT.

then you misleadingly tell me that andreas would send you a head for $70 more which is bullshit. more like $70 plus $100 shipping.

those are two areas of misinformation among others.

i'm glad you're getting it fixed and hope it works out for you with as little out of pocket cost as possible. let me know how much it costs and we can negotiate at the point in time.

i'm done here.

This is a real shame.

For one, I don't think you can collect on insurance for something improperly packaged by the shipper. At least, I know if UPS saw that, they'd tell you tough sh**. I would think FedEx is fairly similiar. Insurance is generally only paid out because of the negligence of the shipping company, not because the shipper is lazy and improperly packages an item.

Yes, tampa, you're fully in the wrong here. I can't even begin to fathom the reasoning that it's the buyers problem because his head arrived looking like it was repeatedly hit by a sledgehammer.

Just because the buyer wanted the best deal he could doesn't make him cheap. It makes him smart, because, had all things been equal, he would have received a part he could have used for lower than going rate. Of course, in this case, all things weren't equal because you skimped on the shipping and packaging so badly it made his purchase useless.

Also, you did not have to take the buyer's offer. If you think this was such a lowball offer, maybe you should have held onto it. Just because someone wants something I sell for 280 bucks, when I normally sell it for 380 bucks, doesn't mean I have to take their offer. Pretty weak excuse in my book for claiming that. Pure ignorance. You took the guys money, and wanted to keep as much of it as you could. In the process, you sent the dude a jacked up part because you got cheap. Nobody's fault but your own.

Also, as a note to the buyer - you purchased a fully functional VE head, and received a mangled piece of garbage.
That is technically misrepresentation of goods, and if you used a US Postal Service money order, it could be considered a form of mail fraud. This is why ANYTIME you use money orders, you should use postal money orders.
If you did purchase a USPS MO, you might want to check into the process of filing for that to get your money back.
