Progress LCAB Interference With Shift Linkage
Hey everyone. I recently installed a Progress LCAB on my car. I like the added stiffness but I ran into an issue. The bar interferes with the shift linkage rod that is at the back of the transmission. This only happens in 1st, 3rd, and fifth gear since the rod is at it's maximum rearward position in these gears.

Has anybody else run into this? I'm just curious if anybody else has.

what trans and linkage? also what mounts are you running? i had a set on my b13 before but it was all stock. if a b15/p11 was installed with the stock b13 rods, I think it would interfer some.

I haven't experienced this issue in by B13.

Here's an image.

I'm running Prothane mounts at all four locations. The transmission is the stock RS5F32V. Vorin what engine mounts are you using? Also how much clearance would you say you have between the shift rod bracket and the LCAB?

Stock trans, Stock mounts reinforced with polyurethane construction adhesive, except for the front mount, which was turned mostly solid with some welding and JB Weld. https://goo.gl/photos/aZsGse23UszeACVQ8 https://goo.gl/photos/Vw4c8HjXnvotbayz7

The picture I shared before was one I already had, so I haven't measured. It'll be a while before I can get the chance to.

All of my mounts are stock with the Prothane inserts. I also have a Progress LCAB with no clearance issues. I don't know and have never paid any attention to the clearance to the shifter linkage. I am running a SR16VE trans, but I don't think that should make a difference. My car is mainly used for track events and have not noticed any binding on track or street. The only problem I have is my down pipe/flex pipe is slightly touching the LCAB.

Could your linkage be bent?

My car was hit on the right front corner before it got into my hands. You can see evidence of it when you look in the wheel well. I guess maybe it's off enough where the shift rod on the transmission ends up touching the bar. I'll have to try to measure the unibody and suspension subframe next time I have the engine out. I think for now I might have to resort to grinding the bracket that is making contact with the LCAB.
