Is my abs system non functional?
I've been driving with a missing abs sensor for a few years now. It all started with a bad wheel bearing. Went to the parts yard and all I could only find was a non abs knuckle and hub assembly. Put that on and I have been driving like that ever since. My question is, is my ABS non functional? I haven't noticed any difference really. I read somewhere that it could still be on? If it is still on, how do I completely disable the system?

You can verify if you have ABS functionality by braking hard on a gravel road. The pedal should pulsate alot if yours is active.

To remove it, pull the ABS fuse. This triggers the CEL, but there are ways to get rid of that..

Thanks for your response Dala. Which fuse do I need to pull? I pulled the fuse inside the car and afterwards the car wouldn't start. I'm guessing it's the one under the hood?

Yeah, and pull the electrical connectors for the divider, up by the power steering reservoir. Then you can enjoy no ABS, and next time your engine is out, you can take out all the associated bits
