Just a bit of an update. My rear hankooks finally came in late last month. Ordered these early in august. price we pay for living on an island.

Also started to do some wedling to beef up the rear a bit more:

I will be doing a lot more welding shortly as I just ordered the 600lb springs for the front. The last event showed me that i need more front sprng now that the rear is gripping more.

It is weird, add more grip in the rear and the front rolls more, or understeer. maybe i need more camber. Will try the front springs first since i can undo it if it does not work.

Forogt to add this pic of the top hat installed in the car:

I did it, Installed 600lb Eibach spring for the front coils:

Feels very good, I just have to adjust ride height because the front is a little high, I would love to get it corner balanced how it is now to really dial it in.

on another note, help me diagnose my tire wear.
I know the inside wear is from a bit of toe out that i did not zero back about 2 months ago and the added camber, but the out side has me puzzled a bit. I am guessing the car is rolling the tire over? too little tire pressure?:

The 600lb front springs are suprisngly not bad comfort wise, to be honest i dare to say if feels better than the tein's 7kg springs, maybe i was bottoming out on the softer springs. The car feels more nuetral to a bit more on the understeer side but this is just from slaping them in a driving around on the street, I do have some toe out dialed in as well which i think gives you good turn in but then turns into understeer around mid entry which is where the understeer happens.

I have adjusted my stock front to the softer setting( i drilled my the ends for a stiffer setting) and it feels a bit better. i still have not messed around with tire pressure or dampening or the rear sway bar. I will do that shortly but would most likely leave most of the adjustment at the race. as street feel is no where near what the car would do when pushed. and I dont know about most of you but i dont like to push my car hard around the bends on the sreet. i would only go a bit faster than normal to have an idea of the feel or difference between setup.

The other thing is that maybe the spring is at the point of being to stiff for the tires and maybe now ready for some stickies?

Stay tuned.

Guys, it is getting time to get new front tires. I am hoping to get new wheels as well 17x10 maybe to be able to run 275/40-17 tires. Do you think it would be worth uping the size to the 275 RS3? I will be doing the street tires class again for next year but was wondering about going up a size again as I still struggle to use 1st gear.

Re-worked my LCA brace this weekend and painted it red to continue on the intimidation theme.

have you considered the hoosier r6's for an r compound tire for autox?

they are a bit out of my price range at the moment. maybe if I could afford them then I would do it. I read a lot of good things about them and see a lot of people use them for auto-x.
Plus, here on the Island, I don't think it is competitive enough right now.

some install pics of the LCA brace

This shit is solid, I used to bolt the front of the brace to the crossmember to support the brace so it does not have all the weight on the mounting points but no need to do that now. The old setup with the tabs used to bend just using my hands to pull down. impossible to do that now.

I have a bit of toe out on my car so it would follow uneven roads a bit, this seems to help relieve some of that movement and tracks straighter on the same road I drive everyday. so I know how my car feels since I drive it every day. next up is some fender braces which I already have welded up but not installed. I want to weld them on as well rather just bolting them on. may do both?

The fender braces. they were welded up from mid January. Might bolt them on and then weld around.

I did clean the rust off and sprayed some wd40 to keep the rust off.
