B13 vs B14 OEM Rear Caliper Differences
Search word: B13, B14, differences, stock, OEM, rear, brakes, calipers, pistons, bore, size, Original, Equipment, sliders, pins, Sentra, 200SX, SE-R, ser,

Here are the difference between OEM passenger side rear calipers. The black caliper is B14 rears and the gray set is a rear caliper for a B13.

The piston is 1/16 of an inch larger in the B14 than compared to the B13.

The emergency brake bracket and arm are in different locations.

The B13 is slightly lighter in weight. (No idea how much, no scale)

The bolts/pins that hold together the bracket to the caliper are different. The B13 (and even front NX calipers) have the style that is a pin and bolt in one. This method seems like it can break because the threaded part and slider part are one and run the whole length into the caliper bracket. That and if you break the threads or the pin, the whole thing needs replaced. Minute differences. One last thing I noticed is on one of the receiving ends of the slider pin, the outer side of one is metal and one is rubber. Just something else I noticed out of my curiosity.

The B14 has a slightly different style way of connecting the bracket to the caliper. The bolt is separate from the slider pin. The slider pin has a small lip for the boot to wrap around. (In a B13, the slider pin has the lip built onto it, but it is not as pronounced) Since the caliper is black, you can see the silver end of the bolt and opposite of that the slider pin. This slider pin has two flat edges opposite of each other and rest on small notches that are flat on the caliper itself.

These differences noted above are what I could see with my eyes or given values from FSM.

Everything else is relatively the same. The mount to same locations on either stock setup and are interchangeable, if absolutely needed. However, you are much better off by simply utilizing the Nissan parts bin to upgrade to the 90-94 Maxima calipers for the 91-94 B13 (or 95-99 Maxima for the 95-99 B14). Beam brakes stay with beam-based cars. IRS brakes stay with IRS-based cars.

Question, are these OEM calipers and not remans? Also, did they come with the slider pins? I need all 4 rear slider pins. I plan on buying some new rear calipers from advance at $40 a piece with the core return.

They are re-manufactured OEM calipers.

I am confused....Why is this a sticky?
Maybe I am missing something here,so please explain.
Is it so B14 owners can try to use B13 rears???

If you go try to mount a B14 rear caliper to a B13 it wont work because they are designed differently for the rear beam vs. IRS.
The B14 places the caliper in front of the axle(towards the front of the car)
While the B13 places the caliper behind the axle(towards the rear of the car).

Thats why the ebrake hookup is all wrong/Also the offset and whatnot where it bolts up is different.
Not saying it cant be done, but not without modification...better off just getting Maxima rears instead,IMO

This was made to help educate people, whom still have issues with this as seen here.

I have added the suggested upgrades for people, but folks still have problems. sorry, Jay.

Kyle, do you happen to have pics showing differences between the parking brake cables of a B13 and B14?
Like;
Overall length.
Distance between mounting tabs.
Shape of mounting tabs.
Etc.

I realize now the cables I got from the reputable seller will not fit due to the mounting tabs not lining up with the stud/bolt locations and the shape of the mounting tabs are very different than the tabs on my B13 drum cables.
