Motivational Front suspension questions
I have a set of Motivational fronts for my B14 and they are blown... I have searched and searched both forums and I either am not finding the information or clearly its not there, I would like to know if they are Koni inserts and what is the part number that they use?

If anyone has this information it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! Thank you in advance

I believe they used the Koni red inserts. The reds are basically not available any more. You can use a 8610-1409SPORT which is a B15 externally adjustable koni. The rub is that as far as I know the inserts were welded to the bottom of the struts by Motivational.

Another option is to have them rebuilt by Koni at about $100 each + parts.

Mike K says Koni.

However, one of the very early SCC SE-R suspension articles was on Motivationals, and I am quite sure, nearly positive, that article stated that Motivational was using Bilstien inserts. I have the issue, but I am in mid-move and damned if I know where anything is.

^^
deja vu
i ran a set (possibly the 1st b14 set available to the general public) for ~5 yrs. they were definitely koni reds, rebuild-able and they were a $$HUGE$$ upgrade over the prokit/agx's they replaced

what made you switch teal97?

Thanks for the info guys... Im looking to rebuild these in the next month. I currently have agx/gc in the rear and these were on the front of my car and I couldnt take bouncing around anymore. Im finishing my build over this next month and I want to drive a comfortable car, not a bouncy one on the street lol...

If you are going to have Koni rebuild them I think the turn around is about 6 weeks.

How are they blown? Are they leaking fluid? How is the car bouncing? They may just need a different adjustment.

At some point I would love to find out if Moti ever did use Bilstiens, or if that was a typo in SCC.

Maybe in their early product offerings, and then switched to Koni's?

However, for Mark, Teal's answer is perfectly clear on the B14's.

Moti's were definitely the first "CSK's" (or "CSB's"?) that I ever saw in SCC for our vehicles. I remember reading it and thinking "wow...they shortened the strut body to maintain travel...how cool."

Rebuilt and those Motivational's should be kick-ass Mark, giving you both much better ride quality and better handling. A double win.

they used 91-94 maxima inserts, i know cuz i have a set that are blown, b15 inserts will not work because the diameter of the b15 is not large enough to fit snug into the maxima housings, your only option is to get koni or one of the rebuilders to rebuild them or do what i am gonna do, and try to sleeve the b15 inserts into the housing haha
