Close up 2-1 seems like some surface scratch not sure if this will affect it or not base and the compression test of 270 I assume not

We check the block and looks to be ok , didn't look like any damage was cause at cylinder sleeves .
The head gasket use wasn't the metal VE and I think is because there was a difference in hight between the block and the timing chain cover , in fact the timing chain cover didn't have a head gasket section it was RTV witch I was later told is ok because there is no pressure in that part, good too know .
After taking the timing chain cover and sanding it down with some sand paper and a block it was ready for the new VE head gasket witch I was told is the best way to go .

One problem I encounter wild taking the head of the block was the 3 of the ARP head stud were strip and I was not able to take off , this really made the assambeling little difficult .
