AutoX Questions
Well i have for some time now going back and forth with what do get as far and good AutoX car. I am not sure if a RWD would be best or FWD. B13 or
B14 or S13/S14. i am not which way to go. Do you guys see better times with RWD or FWD on AutoX ?

If you are new to autocrossing, whatever you currently have will set the best times. The goal is not winning, but having fun and getting experience.

Do not fall into the trap of thinking you have to buy or build something to make it happen. Get experience under your belt and a firmer understanding of the rules and class structure before spending money.

In some classes, FWD is favored. In others, RWD cars (or AWD cars). Depends on the class, prep level, participation at the event in particular, etc.

FWD/RWD/AWD/MR doesn't matter... but they are all different driving experiences.

If you build a car that nobody else has it is cool, except you have no way to judge how you are doing as a driver. My 2 cents is to improve the fastest is to find a good driver to co-drive with while you learn.

I have done this before in my old b13. I know it is not about the fastest car it is just about having fun and driving and enjoying your car. I am not sure which direction i want to go in.

Neither the B13/B14 or S13/S14 are classed especially competitively in any SCCA Solo class, so either is good if you're not concerned about winning upper-level events in them.

The SE-R is fairly light and easy to drive on the limits. The suspension geometry isn't great, but it's passable handler with a few upgrades. If I were staying with the common Street Touring bolt-ons, I'd go SE-R.

A lightly modified 240SX isn't as lively as a similarly modified SE-R, but it's a better platform if you're after bigger horsepower upgrades and chassis upgrades that put you into higher classes. There's a point of diminishing returns with FWD beyond a certain horsepower.

Good to hear. Humble pie seems to be rare around here.

Another thing is to have a wheel/tire combo dedicated to racing. Driving around town will thermal cycle your tires out way before tread is gone.

How will the B13 handle better than the B14 with the same suspension? A lot of people would say the B13.

JimR said it best, whatever you have is the best car to autocross.FWD is easier to get started with safely, and there are probably a lot more inexpensive options for simple bolt ons.By safely I mean understeer is easier to deal with than oversteer. You will eventually do both no matter what you drive.
I've autocrossed a not well prepped b13,and a very well prepped b14;so I'm biased towards the b14.I've competed against every type of car(FWD,RWD,AWD,MR,),big horsepower,no horsepower, whatever.I've sent every type of car home disappointed on Sundays. If you put in the time to pay attention to details, listen to those who know, you can be fast in anything. So it boils down to hard work and persistence. Pick a car you like, and are comfortable with, and go for it.

This. I used to beat people in my wife's 80whp Legacy station wagon.
