Track Day
Anybody in the Tulsa area want to do an HST event at Hallett at the end of May or June? I'm in Fort Smith, AR and plan on attending an event in the near future if anyone wants to get a bunch of SR20 powered cars together and have some fun. I would like to hit the track before gas prices get in the $5.00 range, but I'm also getting my B13 track ready and reliable. If enough people are interested maybe we can just rent the track out for a day. Thanks.

I didn't see anything pertaining to that a couple of days ago. I've been on the website several times lately.

Hallett is pretty expensive to rent on a weekend, and is probably booked on notice this short. The least amount of worry to get into a lapping day is go to a COMMA HST day. I think it's still just an annual membership fee with a per-day fee. You get four or five 15-minute sessions between road racing run groups.

I haven't run at Hallett in a couple of years, and last was with a private group of friends with a gracious "sugar daddy" to front the initial rental costs and be willing to collect fees from everyone. I managed to tag along.

Make sure to bring fade-proof brakes, as Hallett has a lot of repeated downhill braking zones. AD18's spoil the party unless you have a race-only pad that works in a high heat range, and even then, AD22s with good pads are the ticket. Bring extra brake fluid and rotors if you can.
