You should be fine then. I don't remember exactly where I ordered the aftermarket B13 tank from. Maybe ebay. It was really cheap though. You get what you pay for.

Engine bay cleaned up and painted after welding:

For a quick and dirty rattlecan job, the hood turned out very nice. Not perfect, of course, but not bad at all. Keep in mind that it's a race car, so as long as it looks good from 50' at 50mph, it might as well be perfect.

Looks good Mark. There's no better color than white for down and dirty home paint jobs! Better in the heat too. I wish my black SE-R was white this time of year.

So, this really has very little to do with the rally car, but I feel the need to rant a bit.

Rally-America requires that one have a hazardous liquid spill kit in a rally car.

So I ordered one from Susquehanna Motorsports (Susquehanna MotorSports - High Performance Vehicle Lighting and Competition Accessories) and had it shipped to my office.

The UPS driver who covers this route is an unpleasant, bitter woman who bitches endlessly if she has to deliver a package that's more than a few pounds, and will take any excuse to not do her job (even with smaller packages).

I forgot the suite number on my shipping info. Yes, my mistake. She kicked it back to the sorting center. She knows damn well where our office is, and the company name was on the shipping info.

The sorting center calls my home and leaves a message that it can't be delivered and that I should call them to have it redelivered and then they leave the tracking number, but it's so rushed and garbled that I literally had to listen to the message over 20 times to get the tracking number.

So I call them, and am told that they won't redeliver based on my phone call (which was what they called and told me to do...) but I would have to either wait for a postcard they had sent out, to the same address, (via USPS, which should make it because the USPS carrier isn't a douche) to arrive and then sign that and mail it back to them, or come pick up the package myself. Oh, and they would return the package to the sender on Fri (this is on Wed) if they didn't get the postcard back by then, which of course, it wouldn't.

So, I'm already pissed off, but I drive the 12+ miles to the sorting facility. Turns out that they are only over 7a-10a and 4p-7p. These hours being selected to maximize their desire to f*** over their customers. At least it was nearly 3 by that point and I only had to blow an extra hour and a half (by the time they actually found the package)...

So today I ordered up a Class III hitch receiver for my van, along with some nice, heavy hitch bars and balls. Normally I'd have them dropped at my house. But this time I made sure they went by UPS ground, and had them shipped to my office. Made 100% certain that everything was right on the address this time.

B**** can haul all that up to my office next week.

Think I need to order up a new Optima blue-top for the rally car too.

Actually the fronts are Posi-Quiets and the rears are Raybestos.

Likely though that Centric and others just resell the same product from the same re-manufacturers, so there's a good chance they're the same product.

NX2000 brakes in the front and Maxima SE calipers + NX2000 non-USDM rotors in the rear.

Been working mostly on getting my garage to not look like an episode of "Hoarders" the last week. 75% of the volume of crap in it is gone. Which means that I can actually effectively work on cars in it.

Bad news is that I've got a Subaru head gasket job to do before I get back to the rally car. Hopefully I get that engine pulled tomorrow and do the work over the next week and can get back to the Sentra next weekend.

Got in 8 wheels with rally tires yesterday from a former SE-R rallycross guy in the southeast.

Sorry, put them away in the shed before taking pics. Oops.

That brings me up to:
4x '80s vintage 200SX wheels with Kumho rally tires, soft compound. These tires have a reputation for being too soft for most situations. Work well for RallyCross and roads with high sand/low rock composition, or in cool weather.

4x NX2000 wheels with Hankook rally tires, again in soft, but the Hankooks are no where near as soft as the Kumhos. Unfortunately these are way worn down. Will probably use them at my first event where I know I'll be slow anyhow.

4x NX2000 wheels with Falken rally tires in medium. The Falken tires have good tread patterns, but thin (for rally car, normal for a street car) sidewalls. Should be good for a number of the local MN events, but not for, say LSPR where there are lots of sharp rocks.

4x SE-R wheels with Falken rally tires in softs. Like above, but better for cool weather events.

4x SE-R wheels with Winterforce tires. Great RallyCross tires, and in some cases (smooth, wet roads in very cool weather), they're better to have than rally tires, because they're a *lot* lighter. (A real rally tire weighs from 18-30lbs in a 14")

2x SE-R wheels with Lassa rally tires. These are the most serious rally tires I have with beefy sidewalls and an asymmetric tread pattern. And they're brand new, unlike the rest. Too bad I only have two. There are also 2 bare wheels right now. Maybe I can get two more Lassas and have an actual set.
