I didn't know that they stocked that many pistons it just seemed weird to me this is the first 4 cyl. Motor I have built up I come from sbc stuff and if you need a special application piston made they are not normally a off the shelf item... It's a ton of fun working on this sr20 seeing as though its a chance to get away from the sbc stuff and venture into the unknown!

Also what bearings rods and mains do you guys recommend??? Need a decent set that will hold up to a lot of abuse I would hate to see a failure after doing all this work.

what ecu are you using?

in aus we use alot of nistune daughter boards, but there's a few using standalone (such as link g4) which "hides" inside a factory ecu case,in your situation there worth looking at,if money permits.

don't know about your end of the world, but a ecu with live tuning is the business. i picked up 20kw's atw in 3hrs on the dyno with nistune, getting my af ratio's better.with a higher compression motor its worth it.

As of now belief it or not my stock nx2000 ecu... It ran great with just a good port and polish 5 angle valve job with .20 off the head. The stock cams were tossed and I bought a set of jwt s5 cams belief the numbers on the cams are .503 .281. The car is unbeatable as of now but with the beating I put on everyone this past season I have a strange feeling everyone is going to build there cars up so its time for me to go crazy with a all motor build... I just can't risk having the one part they check (ecu) visually to be caught. Everyone always says at the track like idiots "o you must have chipped your computer" they don't have the the resources to buy a good scanner for obd2 so they deff won't look for a obd1...lol

Anyone have a idea on the main and rod bearings?

the s5 cams are killer in a de. but i'm surprised you're trouble free with them. grab a 4 ccw ve crank, use stock de/ve rods, acl main and rod bearings. last i checked, the sr16 pistons were on "in-definite" back-order so go with 12.5cr 87mm cp pistons. you can get them for less than $500 (shipped) in the lower 48. pm me for details on the pistons if you haven't already purchased.
i loved those S5's, i'm not surprised you eat vvl motors on stock cams
good luck, man. hope to hear more on your big cam'd de racing adventures

They weren't exactly trouble free in the initial 30 minute start up it threw a rocker arm off thank god it didn't cause any problems! As far a woopin on the vvl it's a whole different ball game on dirt having power is good but its how you transfer the power to traction... Oops I broke another rule in the rule book...LSD! Haha! But the vvl in the new body ser sentra is way to heavy the car scales in at 2850 with driver I am under 2000 in my nx. So weight to power is the key. What issues have people had with s5 cams?

You can't have LSD? The NX2k comes stock with an LSD. If you want a "stock" upgrade, look into the nismo LSD. I'm sure it would come in handy in the dirt.
