GTi-R cams part 2
OK a few of you might remember about 6 months ago I swapped in a set of stock GTi-R cams into my all motor SR. With stock cams I put down 135whp and 122wtq on a mustang dyno. After the cams were installed I put down 141whp and 118wtq but lost a lot of mid range. Well I finally got around to swapping in the stock intake cam and was quite surprised with the results. Back at the same dyno I put down 146whp and 120wtq. Best of all I got back almost all the mid range power. Here is the graph. Solid line is the most recent small dash is both gt cams and big dash is stock cams.

How it is possible to run GTiR cams in highport DE?
Did you gained 11whp with just GTiR exhaust cam? Whats your other mods?

Ive looked at cams list for the comparsion.

Highport cams

IN 248° 10.0mm
EX 240° 9.2mm

GTiR cams

IN 248° 10.0mm
EX 248° 10.0mm

So intake cams are the same specs, im thinking why did you lost a lot of midrange with GTIR intake cam while they are same?

I don't know much about how duration is measured, but lift comes from a formula defendant on rocker arm ratio. The GTIR has mechanical lifters, and probably totally different geometry. So while they appear the same on paper, they are probably quite a bit different.

this is a very old mod. Back in the day there were SCCA cars that would use a GTi-R Exhaust cam for more hp, IIRC it was known as the "nismo exhaust cam" and had the gti-r part#
