Isn't the mechanical profile killing for hydraulic lash adjusters?

Anyone know if the GTI-R cams will work in a RR head?

They should. After all the GTI-R was roller rocker engine, with ITBS and a few other goodies.

gti-r is a solid lifter setup iirc.

Yep. It was even in the Nismo catalog. Should lead to excessive rocker arm wear so make sure to inspect more often when running this cam. I think Nismo replaced it with rebadged S3/4s.

OT; Should be okay in RR SR20? I'd be interested to see how they do in a turbo rr motor.

check this out....

this is from g20.net.......from 95G_atl with bc stage 2s.....
Dyno Chart...!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HERE IS A BREAKDOWN OF THE DYNO NUMBERS FROM BEFORE AND AFTER THE CAMS.
Your results may vary.

HORSEPOWER

rpm | w/o cams | w/cams

3500 78 70
4000 95 85
4500 110 101
5000 123 119
5500 131 131
6000 135 142
6500 131 150
7000 118 151
7500 105 150

TORQUE

rpm | w/o cams | w/cams

3500 118 107
4000 123 112
4500 130 119
5000 130 125
5500 126 126
6000 119 125
6500 107 123
7000 88 115
7500 72 105

Now you can see at 7500 rpm's I have a 45whp advantage over stock cams...WOW. But you can see that I lost 10whp at 4000rpm vs stock cams...ouch. It is the price you pay.

Same for torque. I had a 33whp advantage with cams at 7500 rpm...but lost 11 ft/lb of torque from 3500-4500 rpm. Again, not for someone that likes to avoid high rpm applications.

Oh, and anyone racing their G's without cams...or even a header....i've said this a million times, and these #'s don't lie. It is POINTLESS to shift at redline on a stock engine, even with a header. I probably would be shifting at no more than 6500 rpm's unless you have a great set of cams.

Enjoy!!

you didn't mentioned that GTIR uses different "flat" rocker arms so i think the cam timing will be different
