Clutch Replacement
Hi, I have never changed a clutch on a SR20DE before. I was wondering if there is anything I need to know that is out of the ordinary, problems i might run into, special tools needed, or any tips that might help.
Thanks

Tip:

Drop the cross member so that the motor is tilted down towards the transmission. Use a jack to support it so the motor doesn't go too far.

Don't forget to pull the starter away. Two bolts hold it into the transmission bellhousing.

Get some grease. It's going to help you to put the input shaft back onto the motor. Lube up the axles too, it'll help them slide in easier.

You need a clutch alignment tool.

Replace the throw out bearing as well, get the flywheel resurfaced if needed. Otherwise do what ^ he said.

Thanks for the tips, . . . so me and my brother put in the new clutch and flywheel and put it all back together only to find the clutch pedal to not return after pressing down but we can pull it back out easily. The clutch did not seem to engage at all as I had to force it into gear while car was still jacked up (wheels moved forward correctly after in gear). What could cause this. He thinks that he didnt get the spring thing on the throwout bearing on right or just on at all. Does this sound right?
