Hello, I´m rebuilding my motor from SR20VE to SR16VE - I have SR16VE crank and rods, but now I have the question - what happens if I leave the SR20VE pistons ?
I know if the other way - then the comression will be 13,7:1 but what will it be this way ?
Can someone provide me with pistons specs ? SR16VE, SR20VE, SR16VE N1, SR20DE or even SR20DET

Engine Size and Compression Calculator

SR16VE stroke length = 2.705" (68.7mm)
SR20VE piston crown volume = -4.6cc (-0.281 cu inch)
1.2mm SR20 head gasket volume = 6.965cc (0.425 cu inch)
SR16/20VE (inc. 20V) combustion chamber volume = 41.8cc (2.55 cu inch)
SR20/16 cylinder bores = 3.386" (86mm)
SR16VE N1 piston crown volume = 7.5cc (0.457 cu inch)
SR16VE piston crown volume = 9.6cc (0.586 cu inch)


i get 8.8 to 1 with the sr20ve pistons, 11.5 with the sr16ve ones.

Thank you , maybe then I leave the SR20VE pistons and take some of the head off ?

I would NOT modify the head to increase compression.

if I order stock SR16VE pistons , Do I need to notch the piston skirt for the oil squirters ?

Not if you are using the SR16VE crank.

Does anyone know what will happen if I use SR20DE pistons in SR16VE motor ? what will be the compression and how much work I have to do with the pistons before ?

i figure a lot less compression than the sr20ve ones.
