SR20DE with P11 VE head valve clearance?
Has anyone just thrown a P11 VE head on a DE engine before? Curious if the valves have enough clearance since there are no valve notches. It should be a about 10.3:1 C/R and I think would be fun to play with since it has the 8CW crank, Girdle, and decent pistons.

I know there would be a little more involved like VE oil pump and tapping the head. Just curious if anyone has done this since the 99' and under DE lower end is dirt cheap and pretty tough.

I know its been done with a roller rocker, but not sure about the garden variety DE's. Piston tops look the same. No valve reliefs. http://www.sr20forum.com/sr20ve-sr16ve/162336-my-ve-head-swap-how-picture-heavy-roller-rocker.html#/forumsite/21063/topics/162336

Hmm, guess I'll find out pretty soon on 99' under US engines. I'm going to throw my oil pump and head on a old DE and boost it for fun while we go over my VET lower assembly to find out what went wrong.. I would think that the old school DE's wouldn't have a problem if that guy did a RR and they have the same compression or higher on JDM stuff.

Yeah in theory it should be just fine. Go for it!

It should be OK up to SR16VE Cams, I wouldn't recommend using N1 cams though, unless your have valve reliefs in the pistons.

Cool, just sticking with the P11 SR20VE cams
