Ve head on det block.
I have been searching for the correct answer. I'm just new to the ve experience. I have a redtop bluebird block that I want to install a ve head onto. Does this in fact require drilling and tapping for an external oil feed. If so, can someone refer me to a source that will show me how?

Would it just be in my best interest to source a ve block?

IIRC you have to tap the head for an oil feed. There should be a few threads on here covering this issue.

DET block is perfectly fine. But yes you need an oil supply to the VVL head. Easiest way is to T a line off the oil pressure sensor location. And then as Big Ben stated you need to supply that oil to the head. For this you need to tap the head on the a side.

Lastly, you need to tap and block off the original oil supply of the VE head which is on the deck surface.

Hell, I forgot about the oil feed on the front of the det block, that really will make things easier.
It has seemed over the years the archived information that used to be stickied has since been removed and makes it hard to come across. I did find the tapping procedure from the RR build that someone did a few years back.

Thanks for the info, guys. Sorry for sounding like a noob, just new to ve.
