Pinging at part throttle
Hi guys
I am having a problem with my VVL at slight throttle my car pings and has a bogging feel where the car pulls back at crusing speeds.
It has stock ECU, stock MAF, Stock Distributor. my machanic said it maybe bad gas so i change gas but still happen we have 86rom or so gas very low so my machanic pull back some timeing on the car and i change the plugs and fuel filtter but still pinging and now with the timeing pull back when i down shift the car bucks and boogs as if the engine is locking up

Pull spark plugs and see what they look like now after the change? What did the old ones look like?

I guess pull more timing or something else is wrong with fuel or ignition in the car.

the old ones were a light brown on the tips now i just check the new plugs and those are white on the tip and black soot on the rest of the plug

What's the timing set at/what octane fuel is in it

86 ron would be something like 83 octane here in the USA.

Timing is set at 11 now but was at 15

Check the dizzy make sure there is no oil inside there from the inner seal leaking. If oil is getting to the CAS then it can give a messed up reading and cause pinging.

what this guy said.... happened to me and i thought it was mah pump.... changed to a next dizzy and it started to haul like it should

or replace the knock sensor also. that might be throwing false signals also.

Hi guys
could i just replace the Distributor Cap, Rotor and seal or do i have to replace the hole Distributor
