    Default New Engine's Dyno numbers

    Hello guys,
So yesteday i went to the dyno with my recently swaped SR20VE, the engine was very very rich and running like crap. I was running a chipped ECU and the tunner used Nistune to tune the ECU. After 3 hours of dyno tunning we finished with this numbers:

173whp and 138ft/lb of torque with opened cut out.

    163whp and 131ft/lb of torque with a 2.5" exhaust(i know, i know i need to change it to 3")

I will be posting a video soon...

ok. stock sr20ve should dyno 158whp or so, so you are not far off with the pulls with 2.5" header. could be a bit higher but dont know the other variables

the open exhaust figures are good though...

wonder if i should try tune/race open exhaust?

You are right, so my next step is to get a 3 inch exhaust to get those 10whp back... also the engine was running so rich that the sparkplugs were a little damaged, so i hope to come back with a full tune up and the exhaust to get some gains... after that i will have to see were i can get more whp...

The 173WHP dyno still looks turbo rich (mids 11's). Lean it out up to 13's. You still have headroom on tuning alone. Stock cams depending on the intake (CAI/WAI) might like a lot of timing. I would lean/advance that biatch

Here you get an Idea of what a better header and a better Intake Manifold will give you....

My plan is to put a 3" exhaust in the next month.

Then next year i will be investing in a Xcessive Intake Manifold with the Q45 TB and MAF, hopefully later i will get a header made by supercowboy to finish the receipe...

It's kind of like synergy. The more other mods you have, especially when you modify the valve train, the more power you should make with a bigger exhaust. I remember seeing a '98 SE with the stock SR20DE motor making 140hp @ the wheels with intake, header, JWT ECU, and JWT s3 cams.... but with the stock exhaust. He went to a 3" catback and pulled 154hp @ the wheels. So imagine the percentage of increase with the SR20VE motor.
