High idle issue
Hello guys,
Im having this issue, in my VE, i have a nistune ECU with a base map and when we started the car, the idle stays high between 2000 and 2500 rpms, but if i disconect the brown plug of the Idle control system (i think it is IACV) the idle drops to 1200rpms.

As the car is using a base map i have to get it tuned and i dont know if the tunner would be able to correct this, what i want to know is if it could be something else other than tune...

Any help..

Thanks,

Clean the IACV and also check your tps. I had problem with mine too and I swap out the tps and it fixed my idle now i idle at 800.

using the VE throttle body? try adjusting the plunger thing.. or swap a DE throttle body on so you dont have to worry about the engine swallowing throttle body screws lol.

I just swapped the engine, i got the car back a week ago, and it have been having this issue since then... but i think it is part of the instalation.

im going to the dyno in 30 min and hope i can fix that in there with the tunable ECU...

I will let you all know who it went...

yep, the VE throttle bodys have an adjustable plunger type thing, never messed with it myself but i've seen alot of guys fix the high idle issue that way..

usually theres not much "in" the tune you can do to raise or lower the idle.

I went to the dyno and the tunner fixed the issue... dont know how but he fixed it... =P

He told me that if i wanted to lwer or rise the idle i could use the little screw thing in the TB... but where should i put the idle? 800-900rpm

Thanks all for the help...

Guys just to close this, my tunner adjusted all with the ECU and idle is now normal...

I think it was a problem with the base map..
