Sr16vvl head on sr24det block, anyone done it?
Hi everyone, i live in Malaysia, south east asia. Has anyone built or saw this kind of engine set up? I will using it for drifting on my Silvia 180sx. The head, block, turbo and manifold was already put in together now, just wait for the wiring for the Ecu and air cond.

I want to know the pro and con with this set up and any details or story about it like it's reliable or not, how high can it rev, how much hp can it get with what turbo etc etc etc. i want as much info i could get about it from this forum. Thanks in advance. I really apriciate it.

This is what i built now. (almost done)
Sr16vvl head
-port and polish
-rebuilt valves and lifters
-custom intake manifold with 75mm throtle body
-reposition solenoid for rwd use

Sr20det block
-2.4 brian crower stroker kit come with crank shaft, con rod, forged piston, 1.4 metal gasket, piston sleeve, crank and rod bearings.
-line bored and engine balance
-nismo oil and water pump

I will use Aem engine management, fuel rail, regulator, boost controler and few sensor. Temporary i"ll running with Gt3037 and will swap to Gt35 or Gt40 with nos after get the confidence of its reliablelity

Please give me some input, info or anything regarding to this set up. Thanks!

i see no mention of what sleeve up grade you chose....

without a sleeve upgrade, your setup may not be very reliable.

also, i had issues with my line bore for my mains. dont make the same mistake i did, please MIC and BORE Gauge your oil clearance... no bigger than 0.0015" and no tighter than 0.001"

oh, always take pics and include in your threads good luck

.

I am not sure what is the sleeve upgrade but i bought the kit directly from Brian Crower Usa and it came together with the stroker, i will ask my mechanic about the clearence soon.

To put the sleeve in a det block was very expensive and take a long time. I took more than a month just to machining the block, fit in the sleeve, do a line bore and balance the crank shaft.

I will post the picture soon. Thanks btw!
