aftermarket valve springs with stock retainers
do aftermarket valve springs really need titanium retainer? ive seen stock retainers smack 8k all day (which will be my limiter). are they really needed or do you really need titanium retainers? whats the pros and cons between both. ready go.

Titanium is lighter. Less weight makes valve train harmonics more happy at higher RPM.

you dont NEED retainers, but its a complimentary mod, if your in there why not kind of thing, if this is NA i would do it, on my turbo car i am just upgrading the springs

yeah it would be turbo, i was thinking of just springs, like how much lighter and stronger are the titanium retainers really? i believe the stock ones are just as dependable and reliable with a spring swap, i dont believe there would be much of a difference

Most spring kits come with new retainers. I would do them just incase and for piece of mind. Last thing you want is to have that thought "Only if i did that in the beginning"

If you can afford them get them BUT you dont need them as Forced Compression said. Better yet keep searching for more info. PM Jamie Marsh aka SR20GTiR and he can give you the info you need.
