Degreeing VVL Stock Cams
Guys,

I have a RWD De block with a VVL head with P12 camshafts. Both head and block have been decked with a VET Gasket installed.

Does anyone have experience with the stock camshafts reading a significant level of disparity between actually degreeing the camshafts and using the three timing chain marks as per the FSM?

Dyno results would be brilliant (doesnt have to be related to my specific configuration)

Way too much thought been put into it. just install them with the factory gears and check your shims. Call it a day and worry about how your going to tune it to enjoy it.

lol Ive been VVLing for 5years and this is my 1st consideration of it... guess no one else has either?

I mean, suppose theres a 5whp in store for the N/A guys, that would be more than enough reason to do it

There are posts out there regarding how much the timing is affected by machining of the head/block mating surface, from memory 1.5 degrees per mm removed or along those lines. If it was just re-surfaced and no significant removal of material then do as they say and just run the cams at stock settings. All this has been considered by multiple people out there trust me.

I dont thinkthepowerr is in degreeing the cams. Take the time and see what timing works on the dyno...
