custom Tri Y headers
I am planning to get a custom Tri Y headers for my b14 plus a 3inch exhaust and a 3 inch muff

i have borrowed your pics mercado ser and jagy

im planning on 2 inch diameter primaries, then 2.5 inch choke and a 3 inch outlet..looking at the pics above cmiiw they are not stepped

any thoughts if it would be good to step them? if yes what sizes?

im not sure if I would go the sequence of 12-34(1st pic mercados') or 14-23 (2nd pic jagys)

car is daily driven(not worried about noise) I will run the car in the quarter mile occasionaly
any thought will be appreciated
TIA
any feedback is much appreciated...

I van tell you that 2in primaries on a NA 2.0 will not do much for you. Id suggest a 1 5/8 stepped to 1 7/8... also id suggest 2 1/4-2 3/8 choke.

so thats 1.63 inches stepped to 1.88 inches and choke about 2.25 or 2.38...

what is the ratio between the 1.63 from the 1.88? equal in length?

anyone else notice those two headers in the pics have different cylinder pairing between the two? the one in the first pic is like the hytech header and has 1 and 3 together and 2 and 4 together. the second one is the "normal" way of doing it. with 1 and 4 together and 2 and 3 together.

the not normal (hytech) way has prevent to make more power over a wider range than the "normal pairing" way. might be something to pay attention to when you buy the ebay headers.

I thing you should stick to Hytech replica from ebay.. And modify it.. Keep the specs from the honda header with 1234 cyl pairing thats proved to help with holding more power after peak my car peak its at 7700 and it holds power up to 8700.. so it works

Mine is a ssac custom sec header and it held power all the away across from peak 8000 all the way to 9000 rev cut, and this was before I went H/C and xcessive big intake.
