Oil Gallery Modification
Just curious - I was advised to have my oil galleries modified if I was going to use the VE on the track a lot. Cook Motor Racing do it to all of their race engines... unfortunately they didn't tell me about it before they reassembled my engine!

Is it a common practice outside of NZ? Have any of you modified the oil galleries on your VEs? If so, what did you do / have done to them?

Gallery or galley?

Nevermind, I figured it out. Never heard of it used that way.

There are a few spots in the 53J casting blocks (DE and VE) where there are very sharp edges that will restrict oil flow as well as parts where the oil has to turn in the block, that the galley necks down and causes a restriction. There is also a galley that is smaller on these blocks that should be drilled out a little larger to match the rest of the oiling system.

Is it done on RWD blocks too or is it only an issue with the FWD castings
