Thread: anyone running e85 on a ve?

just wondering if anyone is running e85 on a ve here? I have been dieing to see it, but havent seen anyone run it. Have many friends that have played with it in the turbo world, and there it is miracle juice, but havn't seen anything documented in the na world really

i will soon be starting my budget high comp e85 only build and will post results, but that is still a little bit off, many things i have to organize for the build in the mean time

I don't think most people have a need to use e85 because they don't run compression high enough to warrant it.

Turbo is a different story...

What compression would be more suited for the e85? 13:1?

^Yeah, you'd have to be running like 16:1 or higher for it to really make any sense in an N/A engine.

Where gasoline starts to become trouble (no idea... 13.0:1 on a VE maybe?) then you will benefit from E85.

Why not E85 on a high compression turbo VE? Like 11:1 compression and 14psi boost with a big turbo? Yikes lol. E85 is neat stuff, but too expensive for a daily driver. Perfect cheap race fuel, but you need a lot of it.

out here e85 is cheaper than 92

the biggest issue from that stand point is that you use more of it (20% more from what I heard) so your fuel mileage drops in the name of performance.
