ODB1 ecu help and advice needed ASAP!!!!!
Ok i'm in a jam here I have a 1993 nissan sentra se-r with a sr20ve swap i sent an ecu i had laying around to jktuning to get chipped everything was great on that end and the turnaround time was less than a week. I went to fire the car up and it started and ran fine no problem but my speedo is acting as my tach and my tach does not move whatsoever when i rev the car the speedo moves instead of the tach. I went on the jwt website and checked the numbers on the ecu and it says its from a 92 se-r what i can remember is that the 91-92 se-r's are mechanical speedo, the tach is on the left and the fuel and temp needles move left to right and on the 93-94 se-r's are electronic speedo the tach is right and the fuel and temp needles move up and down. So my question is this........can i re-pin the 92 ecu to work with my 93 se-r and get my gauges working correctly or do i need to find a 93 ecu and send it out again? Just shot a quick vid help me please lol.

They look the same to me. Tach on pin #2, VSS on pin #32.

Just curious why the 91-92 ecu would have a vss pin when it has a mechanical speedo? Oh well any other ideas? I'll post a vid of my issue as soon as i get home.

I know my 92 ecu/NX still reads speed. How, I don't know, but it's required for launch control.

In one case, the VSS signal is generated by the cable driven speedo. In the other, the VSS is at the transmission.
