How can you tell the difference between OBD1 & 2 ECU's?
I have two Z32 ECU's here with no labels.

Not always the case, I have 2-3 JDM OBD1 harnesses that are white too. That's just Nissan changing composites throughout the years.

Only real way to tell is by ECU pin locations. OBD1 plug, OBD2 plug, OBD2.5 plug are all very different, but this is all SR20, who's to say Nissan used the same plugs for other cars. Thus bust out FSM's for both years and compare plugs to the plugs in the FSM's.

Most ECUs have a sticker on the side, usually on the side opposite the connector, that has 6 numbers/letters. That is also the part number.

these have no stickers at all. was sent away to be chipped but were returned saying they are obd2. they look obd1 to me cause of the area where most of the old obd1 daughter boards solder in. But now I am unsure.
