What the best chip, to tune a sr20det
Ok guys I'm new here, I had a question! Whats the best way to get a chip for my 91 se-r sr20det? I heard nistune was good, any other option? Or has anyone install an AFC?

Absolute best without running stand alone I would say the nemu realtime board offered by JKTuning.
But you also have the basic daughter board, but you have to physically remove the chips everytime you want to retune them.

Have you ever install an AFC? Just curious...

Nemu, no contest, best thing that ever happened for the sr20. Pity a lot of the cool stuff happened 10 years too late, if the VE had been fitted to a decent manual car in Japan it woulda been a hit and rivalled (and prob beaten Vtec).

Shame on you Nissan for not having the balls to make great cars with the great engines you had available.

Oh yeah, back on topic. Nemu, its the only real option.

For the price of an safc you can get a basic board from jk tuning, an older calum basic board etc. nemu and nistune are pricier options but the nemu is well worth the price.

For about $260 you can pick up a full basic EMS that will run a DET just fine. Home

I'm still waiting on someone in the states to try these out. They're very popular locally.

Doctor g i would like one of these but the car have ac and full accesories with the vvl. Not sure if that would work with my car. Great deal for the price.

P10 most guys here obviously have the AC removed, but there are a few who still run A/C and don't have any real issues.

There is an ouput that can drive the IACV, but I've always manged to idle jsut fine without it. Cold start compensation based on water temp, and the VVL usually work fine regardless due to the mechanical cold idle. Personally, I don't even use that either. Lastly, there is also automatic compensation based on voltage drop and air temp.

The system has built in MAP sensor, but I prefer TPS for N/A. There is a single output for the VVL. You'd have to run an external fan switch plumbed into the radiator hose to activate the fans though.

And the STD ecu option works well with the nissan distributors without any modification.
