Two Fuel Maps and Timing Maps
I just found the B14 address file and finding some nice new additions in it.

Check it out here http://www.calumsult.com/calumsu/B14_512_E.adr

Anyway to the point, you know how we have two fuel maps and timing maps and how we are supposed to copy the values from the primary map into the secondary? Well finally found out why we have two maps. High Octane and Low Octane maps.

#HIGH/LOW octane Fuel map.
HIGH_FUEL,&HE100,16,16,256,1,High octane Fuel map
REG_FUEL,&HEE00,16,16,256,1,Low octane Fuel map

#HIGH/LOW octane Ignition time map.
HIGH_FIRE,&HED00,16,16,256,1,High octane Ignition time
REG_FIRE,&HE800,16,16,256,1,Low octane Ignition time

I might just make myself a bad tune for crappy gas. Problem with boost is, you want to have that octane otherwise you'll have to retard the timing like crazy. This is more for the NA guys .

Booo :-P, there has been some different theories, I haven't seen anything as solid as this.

That address file is old, around Rom Editor times, before the wonderful TunerPro was utilized.

Where's all the B13 stuff at man.

Post up the goodies for both when you find stuff.

From the NisTune website.

"Main" vs "Knock" maps
Most ECU's have two fuel maps. A "main" map and a "knock" map. Sometimes these are referred to as "premium" and "regular" maps - referring to running the engine on either premium or regular fuel. The idea is that the engine normally runs on the "main" map. If knock is sensed then it will jump to the "knock" map. In NIStune these are labelled “Fuel Map” and “Knock Fuel Map”. The IGN maps use a similar system.

Most tuning is done on the "main" map and then the resultant map is copied over to the "knock" map using the "knock copy" button. Some tuners leave both maps the same to ensure consistent running but the idea is that the "knock" map should be a bit richer than the "main" map so in the event of knock being detected the ECU will jump to the "knock" map and this will richen mixtures to help alleviate knock.

V - Change the thread title. Should be tuners, not tunners.

Secondly, the reason why everyone copies the primary map to the "secondary" map is because it's another way of eliminating knock sensing/etc.

F'n grammer (<-ON PURPOSE) nazi

The real reason is because everybody is LAZY. Just copy and go.

Don't have one and can't seem to easily find one, sorry

FIXED :-P. Well there is no reason to do the second map if you always use high quality 93 gas or so. But I would do it if you plan on going on a trip and will be fueling at different gas stations.
