S13 SR20DET red top ecu on B13
Is it possible?
I think i saw on forum similar conversion.. S13 ecu to use on B13. I think it was Ben Fenner or danmartin, but i cant find it. Thanks

i think Ben used a s13 AEM EMS on his car.

The S13 SR20DET uses a coil-on-plug (COP) ignition system which isn't compatible with the B13 SR20DE distributor based system.

Found it:

But there isnt so much info how to do it.

it wouldnt be hard, you would just need to either wire it in yourself or find an S13 wiring harness and do it that way, Its fairly easy for someone good at electrical work. I believe you can either use the 20v CAS or just wire the signal for it into the stock distributor.

Yah jagy it is possible but it's likely going to be way more trouble than it's worth.

You will have to take out the ECU harness and swap around a handful of pins and then add a couple plugs. To see which pins you need to swap you'll either need the wiring diagrams for each ECU or the pin-outs for each.

Then you're going to have to get S13 coil-on-plug hardware. The FWD CAS will probably work, but no guarantees there. Then you'll need the correct MAF and injectors.

What I did with the AEM EMS was a bit easier because I already had COP and I wasn't using a MAF, and AEM is more flexible when it comes to the CAS and injector size and other stuff.

Why would you be considering doing this?

Because i bought PFC for friends S14, but it wont work. Its only for S13 and we dont have them here.
Nobody wants to buy it, so im trying make it work.

Oh, well that would make things easier for sure. You can likely still use your single coil and distributor. You can also go to a MAP sensor (or stay MAF if it allows).

You'll just have to swap some pins around in the wiring harness on the plug that connects to the ECU.

Grab some wiring diagrams (or AEM has the pin-outs on their forum) and have at it. That is, if you feel comfortable doing that. I'm not going to be able to give an exhaustive tutorial on what needs to be done though. Sorry. =/

As I said, the S13 SR20DET uses a coil-on-plug (COP) ignition system which isn't compatible with the B13 SR20DE distributor based system. There are 4 ignition outputs on the SR20DET ECU, each of which fires one cylinder every 720 crank degrees (2 revs). For a distributor based system, you need an ignition output that fires every 180 crank degrees for a 4 cylinder engine. If you try to run a distributor system with the SR20DET ECU, it will only run on one cylinder.
