Ive got a set of agx's im (FINALLY) getting serious about putting on the SE. problem is, i dunno which mounts to use. I've briefly searched for tein mounts, but actually found some KYB mounts on tirerack.com for 29 each. anyone have any experience with using mounts other than new OEM for any type of KYB setup?

K-sports suck when it comes to the coilovers (the Dampers).
Dont know about their pillow ball mounts. I dont see how they can mess that design up. Havent heard of people messing those up. They are a nice piece though. When we installed the K-sports for a friends B14 the fronts looked like copies of the Tein mounts. The rears were different.

Im not saying dont get them. Im just saying from my personal experience (Only one set of K-sports I have seen and installed) the sucked. My friend that has the K-sports on his B14 has already sent them for a rebuild due to a rear shock being blown after only 6,4xx miles of only daily driving (no auto x,track blah blah).
My Tein SS are approaching the 14,500 mile mark and they are perfectly fine. This is with auto x-ing the car about 14 events now. The previous B14 on which I had the Teins in got into an accident rendering it totalled. I think I showed Joekuh the picture. Once I got a new B14 I just swapped those suckers in and they are still holding up fine. EDIT: One thing I did like about K-sports is their customer service.

<<saw the teins in person, they looked like they could take another lifetime of abuse. when i get another b series, i'd pick up teins to try out.

Everything Ive seen about K-Sport havent been too good. They are cheap for a reason. Friend had them on his B14, rears were blown too under warranty.
But the thing to remember is.. all of these problems Ive seen have been on Daily Drivers. So personally I would say, for a track car (not dealing with pot holes and hundreds of miles a week) they should be great. For a Daily..? Stay clear. |
